Many prayers go unanswered because people ask but in their hearts they doubt that God will hear them or, answer their prayer:D

How to pray:

First; ask only for the things that are urgently needed for your happiness or, survival

You must believe 100% that God is so good that He will want to help you

Never ask for things that are trivial in nature like a new car or, things that satisfy your vanity, greed or any unjust cause God will not answer such prayers

Do not pray to Jesus or angels directly unless you have a very close relationship with them, they can help you only if God allows it so pray directly to God

Close and direct your prayers in the name of Jesus Christ, because Jesus is your redeemer and your mediator between God and you

Jesus died for all but all don't glean the benefits of his sacrifice because they offend and grieve God's Holy spirit (God's active force that works in our behalf and makes the impossible possible) We do that by doing things that are contrary to God's will and out of harmony with His Laws and principles
